It's finally springtime in Chicago, which means the season of bar-b-ques, beach days and picnics is in full swing! And as the days grow hotter, you'll surely be in need of some refreshing beverages and sweet treats. To celebrate Memorial Day, we made these darling strawberry, banana and blueberry skewers and paired them with a bubbly fruit punch cocktail. Coupled with festive red, white and blue accessories, our outdoor spread was the perfect way to enjoy the extended holiday weekend!

Out & About with ASW: Octoberfest

Posted on November 02, 2015 by Katie R | 0 comments

Whether you're stopping by a local street fair or hosting your own get together, fall isn't complete without an Octoberfest celebration. And no one does it better than our friend Megan at Sparkles & Sprinkles! We were delighted to help Megan assemble some party decor for her Octoberfest beer tasting party and we couldn't wait to show off the fabulous results. Custom cocktail napkins got an extra punch of personality with gold foil "beer me" and made a perfect resting place for the fall themed brews. Our talented in house designer created a tasting card for guests to score each beverage and a welcome sign pretty enough to frame! For a complete look at Megan's event plus more creative autumn decor check out her full blog post here

Have you planned a party or special event using All She Wrote's extensive selection of napkins, cups & party favors? We'd love to see! Email your photos to allshewrote@allshewrote.com or tag us on Instagram with #allshewrotechi.

Falling for Autumn's Scents

Posted on October 05, 2015 by Katie R | 0 comments

"I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers." - L.M. Montogmery

We couldn't agree more, so to celebrate the new season, we've rounded up all of our autumn must haves. Skip the pumpkin patch and keep all the outdoor scents by lighting a Pumpkin Peppercorn or Woodfire candle from Illume. Both scents will have you racing to roast marshmallows over an open fire. And no home is cool-weather ready without Nest's Pumpkin Chai hand soap and reed diffuser. Bring on the sweaters, boots and pumpkin spice lattes- we're ready!

On-The-Go Smoothie Recipe

Posted on September 14, 2015 by Katie R | 0 comments

Recently, our to do list has seemed longer than there are hours in the day. In need of a simple snack, we teamed up with our friend and Chicago blogger for her go-to smoothie recipe. Megan, from Sparkles & Sprinkles, whipped up this stress-free recipe that we can't wait to try!
Ingredients (makes one smoothie)
1 frozen banana
1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
6 oz nonfat vanilla greek yogurt (or any yogurt will work here)
1 Tbs all-natural creamy peanut butter
Big handful of fresh spinach

Instructions
Blend the banana on the highest speed until whipped. Add remaining ingredients in order and blend until spinach is completely blended. Pour into your favorite glass (we love this adorable Lilly Pulitzer tumbler) and enjoy!

The streets of Chicago are bustling as college students make their way to campuses for a new school year. Living on your own for the first time, not to mention sharing close quarters with a new roommate, can be daunting to say the least. We believe that taking time to decorate and organize is a foolproof way to make any dorm room feel like home. We’ve rounded up a few of our favorite products that are sure to spruce up your new living space in no time. Hang this gorgeous calendar on your wall to keep track of your class schedule and extracurriculars. Light this candle to creating a soothing atmosphere while studying. Keep friends and family close in this frame. Most importantly, work hard and have fun, this is such an exciting new phase in your life!
